Oprócz popularnych żółtych tramwajów w Lizbonie można spotkać także funikulary (kolejki linowo-terenowe). Przypominają one tramwaje za sprawą zbliżonej budowy pudeł wagonów, obecności pantografów oraz poprowadzenia tras w ulicach (z dopuszczonym jedynie ruchem pieszych).
Prezentowany na zdjęciu Elevador da Glória wziął swą nazwę od ulicy - Calçada da Glória. Otwarta w 1885 roku trasa, łącząca dzielnice Baixa i Bairro Alto, ma długość 265 metrów. Nie posiada co prawda numeru linii, ale wchodzi w skład systemu komunikacynego Lizbony, posiada rozkład jazdy, a w pojeździe należy skasować bilet.
